The late October storm was the latest in a string of disasters to reveal gaps in emergency planning, despite an industry-wide effort to improve preparedness in the years since Hurricane Katrina.

Celgene receives FDA approval for POMALYST to treat multiple myeloma

Celgene Corporation today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved POMALYST brand therapy (pomalidomide) for patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least two prior therapies including lenalidomide and bortezomib and have demonstrated disease progression on or within 60 days of completion of the last therapy.

Care Investment Trust enters joint venture with affiliates of Calamar

Care Investment Trust Inc., a real estate investment company that invests in healthcare and seniors-related real estate, today announced that effective as of February 1, 2013, it entered into a joint venture with affiliates of Calamar Enterprises, Inc., owned 75% by affiliates of Care and 25% by affiliates of Calamar, for the acquisition of two senior apartment communities from affiliates of Calamar with an aggregate value of $23.3 million.
