Data from pivotal study of Marqibo in ALL patients to be presented at ASCO meeting

Hana Biosciences, a biopharmaceutical company focused on strengthening the foundation of cancer care, today announced that complete data from its pivotal study of Marqibo in patients with relapsed/refractory adult Philadelphia chromosome-negative acute lymphoblastic leukemia, have been accepted for an oral podium presentation at the 46th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology to be held June 4-8, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois.

Positive results from preclinical EP-302 program presented at AACR 2010

Drug discovery and development company Esperance Pharmaceuticals today presented positive results from their preclinical EP-302 program that support the initiation of IND enabling studies. EP-302 is a targeted membrane-disrupting peptide designed to selectively kill cells that express nucleolin on their surface. Nucleolin is a protein that is over-expressed in a wide range of cancers and tumor endothelial cells.

NPS Pharmaceuticals closes public offering of common stock shares

NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced the closing of a public offering of 10,350,000 shares of its common stock, including 1,350,000 shares sold pursuant to the full exercise of an overallotment option previously granted to the underwriters. All of the shares were offered by the Company. Net proceeds were approximately $53.3 million after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions, and estimated offering expenses. Canaccord Adams acted as sole book-running manager and Needham & Company, LLC acted as co-manager for the offering.

Immunomedics' blood assay for PAM4-protein can detect pancreatic cancer and predict early relapse

Immunomedics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing monoclonal antibodies to treat cancer and other serious diseases, today reported that a new blood test using the Company's proprietary humanized antibody, clivatuzumab or PAM4, predicted a partial response in an initial set of patients treated with a combination of the antibody labeled with yttrium-90 (Y-90) and gemcitabine. Results were presented at the 101st Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research.
